HOLLOW NEEDLE PIERCING
HOLLOW NEEDLE PIERCING
What does healing look like?
Healing timeframes range depending on your piercing. Earlobes take 6-8 weeks. Conch, tragus, daith, rook, nostril and septum take from 3-6 months to heal. Helix piercings take from 3-12 months.
What is a post downsize?
This is an appointment scheduled 6-8 weeks after an initial piercing to downsize your piercing post to a shorter post. This appointment is necessary as the excess length on the piercing post can get caught on clothing, hair etc. as well as create irritations leading to piercing bumps.
What is Hollow Needle Piercing?
Hollow Needle Piercing uses a sterile, hollow needle that creates a clean cut when passing through both soft tissue and cartilage which is more comfortable, less traumatic, and easier for the body to heal.
What does aftercare look like?
The first rule of healing your piercing is DON’T TOUCH your piercing. It’s important that you don’t pick, twist or play with your piercing - think of this as picking a scab! Your body is healing and this can prolong that process.
Do not use drying agents such as alcohol, peroxide or witch hazel on your piercing.
You can clean your piercing with saline solution 2x/day. Make sure you dry your piercing afterward (blow dryer on low/cool works great!)
Additionally, you will want to schedule a downsizing appointment 6-8 weeks after your initial piercing.
How can I prep for my appointment?
Avoid blood thinners such as caffeine, alcohol and ibuprofen. Make sure you eat no more than 2 hours before and hydrate prior to your appointment.
